Genesis Energy CEO discusses powering Africa, launches new brand identity at energy forum in London
Akinwole Omoboriowo II, Chairman and CEO of Genesis Energy will join energy stakeholders to discuss powering Africa at the Africa Energy Forum. He will also launch the company’s new brand identity at the event.
The Africa Energy Forum is an international investment conference for Africa’s power sector. The event brings together investors, power developers, African governments, utilities and regulators to discuss opportunities for investing in African power projects.
Mr. Omoboriowo II, who was named one of the Most Influential Figures in African Power in 2015 for ESI, Africa’s Power Journal, will discuss how to use captive power to light up Africa.
“Only a small fraction of Africans have access to stable electricity,” Mr. Omoboriowo II said. “It is important to invest in power projects that have the potential to provide the energy that Africans desperately need.”
The Genesis Chairman and CEO will discuss how the company has provided fast-track electric power projects and multiple energy solutions in several countries in Africa. Genesis does this through long-standing strategic partnerships with key players in the sector.
Genesis Energy is also sponsoring a music concert at the Africa Energy Forum. Mr. Omoboriowo II believes music is a way of communicating harder issues such as the lack of power in Africa with a broad audience.
During the concert, Mr. Omoboriowo II will unveil Genesis Energy’s new brand identity. The new identity has been created to reflect the company’s vision of lighting up Africa, one community at a time. “We believe in Africa and remain committed to the vision of ensuring that millions of people on the continent have access to electricity,” said Mr. Omoboriowo II.
Mr. Omoboriowo II was a keynote speaker at the African Utility Week 2016, which took place in Cape Town, South Africa, from May 17-19. He spoke on the topic Africa the Envisioned Future Today: Co-operation Not Competition.
